The “International Community” — We, The World of the Wise — has made a joke of itself yet once again. After pandering to a whole bunch of despots currently around, one of them has come out openly with his evil designs.
Will the Powerful ones overcome their impotence at least now and be more discerning with the others waiting to follow in Vladimir Putin’s footsteps here and there?
After the world wide devastation of the COVID pandemic, we are now witnessing, with a deep sense of anger and helplessness, the sordid events unfolding in war torn Ukraine. It is shocking that one loose canon has dared to create such havoc on a sovereign country which will have an effect on world peace.
It was known what President Putin was up to and it is appalling that the world just did not get its act together despite having the time to chart a firm response to Russia’s malicious plans. It is heartbreaking that while the carnage escalates, the world is even now not responding decisively but only empty rhetoric which for Putin is inconsequential. The world leaders should have walked their talk by action and not mere words.
Russia has only become emboldened with the empty threats by world leaders who have failed to act promptly to tame Putin who is only growing more aggressive in this unjustified aggression. The decision by India to abstain from voting in that resolution against Russia at the United Nations Security Council comes as no surprise and only exposes Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s double face. Tass, the Russian News Agency is now boasting that India has agreed to help to beat the Economic Blockade bypassing the banking restrictions imposed.
The human carnage and the destruction of cities in Ukraine is unpardonable so also is the inexplicable inaction by the powers to be. Putin needs to be speedily brought to book and caged for having brought horror and misery to a very progressive Ukraine. The world has let Ukraine down. The Russian President must be put in.
