RIBANDAR REMAINS BURIED IN A BUNDLE OF FAILED PROMISES

Ribandar may be part of the Corporation of City of Panaji (CCP) but as far as overall development and civic amenities are concerned we remain utterly neglected and in a decaying state despite the very high municipal taxes we pay. Even some of the remote villages in Goa are much better off.

Ribandar has for decades been demanding a football ground, a community hall and a proper market but it is very anguishing that these long standing demands of Ribandarites are yet to be fulfilled. We do not have a Children’s park or a garden nor a public library and there is lack of proper sanitation with poor garbage management. There is a need for a sewerage system to be in place while our roads are also in a despicable state. .

Despite underground cabling erratic power continues to haunt us while proper water supply is a problem that remains unresolved. And for the Fonduvem Ward of Ribandar even the dead are denied of a proper crematorium to Rest in Peace.

Our hope that medical services would be restored at the Old Ribandar Hospital remains one amongst the other mountain of assurances made to us.

Over the years Ribandar has been fooled and taken for a ride with false and fake promises.  We need to hold our MLA and the three Councillors accountable for having failed to deliver on the assurances made.
