A SIGH OF RELIEF FOR GOA

As Vice-President of India Venkaiah Naidu demits office today, it is good news for Goa and a huge relief to our police. Over the years he has been very frequently in Goa visiting his family here. An unwelcome visitor to the State, on account of the great inconvenience caused to the people of Goa during his every visit with that unnecessary traffic mayhem all over while his convoy of vehicles merrily weaved its way through.

Public is entitled to free flow of vehicular traffic and that it is not obstructed or blocked. We have time and again witnessed during Naidu’s visits that the commuting public was put to great hardship. Such disruption of normal life is absolutely impermissible and deplorable.

Venkaiah Naidu reportedly used his visits to get the authorities in Goa to clear all the pending bills of his contractor son-in-law Venkata Rao but he never took the time to impress him about the need to ensure high quality works in the construction of roads and other government projects which over the last many years have been all selectively given to him.

The very shoddy works across Goa by Venkata Rao’s MVR Infra Projects Pvt Ltd is there for all to see. Had this contractor not been politically so well connected he would have been long blacklisted for all those inferior and substandard works. Many are called but few are chosen!
