As the days of this government are coming to an end, the BJP coffin is seen overflowing with scams galore that are surfacing and coming to light. To add to that was the sex scandal which necessitated the resignation of the controversial Minister Milind Naik. And the Government will not be able to escape other sexual misdeeds that it’s some other immoral members are indulging in.
Satya Pal Malik as Governor of Goa had so very rightly and candidly stated that the Pramod Sawant government was awfully corrupt. There couldn’t have been a worse indictment than one coming from the very Constitutional head of the State.
With so many scams at hand, the people of Goa will now only have to judge on which is the biggest one. In terms of the sheer amount involved, the alleged 70 crore PWD recruitment scam is nothing compared to the loot and plunder going on at the Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL) which doubtlessly is today the mother of all scams.
While in the Opposition, the now Panaji MLA Babush Monserrate, had accused the IPSCDL of being a big den of rampant corruption.
Ironically Babush Monserrate and his Mayor son are now Directors of that very IPSCDL and virtually manipulating its functioning.
There needs to be a probe into those crores being deviously funneled into the political pockets under the guise of making Panaji a Smart City.
