Our Panaji should be energy efficient, green and a clean city which is free from crime, safe and always secure. There is no reason why Goa’s capital cannot be creative and productive besides congestion free and a peaceful city.
We need to work towards ensuring that Panaji is prosperous and progressive. A city that is an enjoyable, customer and tourist friendly marketing destination to promote trade and business at all levels.
The Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) should act as an engine and catalyst towards Panaji’s sustainable economic growth and raise local employment levels without compromising the environmental and health standards.
Towards curbing the rising levels of pollution there needs to be opportunities to encourage the residents of Panaji to use alternative forms of energy.
There is a need to establish day care centers besides senior citizens welfare and recreation centers around the city. Panaji needs to be freed from beggars and the homeless sleeping on the streets. These poor and vulnerable need to be rehabilitated and treated like human beings.
If there is a unified, dedicated and consolidated effort there is no reason why Panaji cannot evolve as India’s best city.
