Inquiries with various government authorities has now revealed that Smriti Irani’s family business is extensive in Goa.
Zubin Irani on 19th July 2017 set up Villanix Realtors and Hospitality Private Limited with an authorized share capital of Rs 1,000,000 and paid up capital is Rs 100,000. The major activity of this company is buying, selling and leasing of property through Real Estate brokers. The registered office of the company is at Cecilia Mahal in Khobra Vaddo at Calangute. Besides Zubin Irani, the company has Santano Chalston Roger DSouza and his wife Eva Maria DSouza as Directors. Incidentally Santano Chalston Roger DSouza as authorized signatory of Eightall Food & Beverages Limited had on 7th January 2021 signed the lease agreement taking over the premises of Silly Souls Café & Bar at Assagao for ten years at a monthly rent of Rs 50,000.
Zubin Irani also owns Sparaddise Salon & Spa at Khobra Vaddo on the Calangute-Baga Road. Zubin Irani is Director of at least nine companies all registered with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs including Ugraya Mercantile Private Limited which is linked to Eightall Food & Beverages Limited.
The Enforcement authorities, CBI and the Income Tax authorities must investigate whether these companies are a mode for money laundering with political patronage. The authorities cannot pick and choose who to probe as no one can be above the law. Being in the BJP cannot be insulation from facing the rigors of the laws of the land.
