On September 14th those eight Congress MLAs joined the BJP after being lured with money and promises of positions of Power. At least three of them were reportedly assured immediate cabinet positions while the rest were to be initially accommodated as heads of government Corporations.
It is almost two long months, and the BJP has been unable to live up to its promise as the party has been unable to drop its Ministers to accommodate three of the defectors as assured. So the eight would have to be content with the huge money bags these political traitors received to betray the trust of the people and the solemn oath they had taken earlier this year before various religious shrines. In this so very shameful act of political prostitution of the highest order these eight MLAs even made mockery of God the Almighty. The day of reckoning is not far.
While the eight defectors frantically wait for their positions of Power, they have to now grapple with the disqualification petition being filed against them. They have falsely claimed that they joined the BJP for development of their constituencies, when the whole world knows it was for their self-development. Due to their sheer greed they are destined to now see the end of their political innings. A stunning waterloo it will be and as expected the BJP itself will ensure it.
Karma comes after everyone eventually. What goes around comes around. They are now experiencing the same betrayal that they unleashed on the cherished electoral vote and trust of their constituents. Unless and until we choose leaders of integrity, driven to serve the common good, not attracted by the trappings of power and personal monetary gain but to deliver on people’s needs in these very difficult economic and political circumstances, our State will only deteriorate. Accountability to the people and Zero tolerance to party hopping for personal gain must always be of the utmost importance.
