GROSS MISUSE OF POWER

In these elections the ruling BJP has tried every trick possible, but it will all be in vain. Even in those postal ballots government employees are being asked to mark their choice in the presence of departmental head thus violating the very secrecy of their vote. Even for election duty government staff and officers close to the BJP were exempted from polling duty so that they could be used for the election campaign.

Around 900 of our police staff who have been deployed for election duty in Uttar Pradesh were not given their postal ballots before they left. Was this goof up intentional? They may miss their vote if they are not back in time to submit their postal ballots.

All the expenses incurred by the office of the Chief Electoral officer in conducting the 14thFebruary polls need to be meticulously audited as basic amenities were grossly lacking. On the night of 13th February at many polling stations the staff including Presiding officers were made to sleep on the floor using a newspaper or on a wooden bench. Less said the better on lack of other amenities including the hardship faced by the police posted on duty.  An absolute unacceptable sad state of affairs.
