Those in Power and Authority should be always truthful and never lie. But Chief Minister Pramod Sawant seems to be breaching this with impunity. He has now falsely claimed that Goa is the first State to have ensured 102% vaccination of the first dose of the COVID vaccine. This being far from the truth, it is outrageous for a Chief Minister to deliberately make such preposterous statements. And on Pramod Sawant’s invention of that new figure 102%, we may all have to return to classes in Maths.
Earlier, the Chief Minister had the rank audacity to deceitfully declare that Goa was Open Defecation Free (ODF) from 31st August 2019. It is over two long years down the road and the very sordid ground reality is there for all to see with people urinating and defecating out in the open. In the hills, the fields and along the riverside across Goa we see it all.
We are far from truly becoming ODF and the government needs to get its act together to achieve this goal in the best interests of the State and the Health of its people. For Goa to be Open Defecation Free we would have to first free ourselves from the stench of rampant corruption and lack of proper governance that our State is besieged with.
The astute people of Goa are no fools to be hoodwinked and brainwashed by false facts and figures deviously released by the Government. Transparency and Good Governance at every level has to be the order of the day at all times.
