LAW OF THE JUNGLE CANNOT PREVAIL AT CCP

In total breach of law Babush Monserrate is very high-handedly interfering with and manipulating the day to day functioning of the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP).

As MLA of Panaji he is within his rights to advise and make suggestions but in terms of the CCP Act the Power to take all the decisions is solely vested with the Commissioner. Even the Mayor has no Powers at all.

Over the years to pursue his devious agenda, Babush Monserrate has strongly opposed IAS officers from being posted as Commissioner at CCP, knowing well that they would not succumb to his illegal orders.

The affairs of the CCP should be run and managed from its office by the Commissioner and cannot be unlawfully controlled by Babush Monserrate from his Miramar office or from his Taleigao residence.

While Manohar Parrikar was the Chief Minister, the Government had issued a circular strictly directing all government officers not to visit the private office or residence of MLAs. That circular has not been withdrawn and is still in force.

And its high time Panaji’s apprentice Mayor Rohit Monserrate fends for himself and does not depend on his daddy’s skewed advice for anything and everything. If the Mayor is incapable, as we all now know he is, all that the kid needs is a pen and a piece of paper to make way for someone competent and worthy to take over as Mayor of Goa’s capital city which by the day is just getting bad to worse.  With lack of transparency and accountability at the CCP, our once beautiful City is only further sinking.
