CURB WASTEFUL GOVERNMENT EXPENDITURE

The cash strapped Goa Government in a very flawed move is planning to hold on October 2nd a pompous State level followed by Taluka celebrations to mark the 15th year of the Dayanand Social Security Scheme. The implementation of that scheme started on 1st January 2002 so how does the government claim it completes 15 years. Nonetheless, with the state coffers empty, do we need to hold such unnecessry functions?  For this government which has not been able to even regularly pay those monthly pension payments, the focus should be to weed out the fraudulent beneficiaries that have creeped in and increase that pension to the relief of the really needy.

For rationalization in government spending, strong and sincere austerity measures need to be taken with such criminal waste of public funds on superfluous public functions prohibited. Fiscal accountability and responsibility has to be an ongoing sustained process with every paisa of the tax payer judiciously spent. Due to the follies of the government we have landed in this fiscal upheaval, however now it is the duty and responsibility of the authorities to work towards restoring Goa back on the road to economic prosperity.

  1. Elections are coming my friend. Government will be increasingly borrowing in the absence of funds in treasury in order to attract citizens while also keeping its existing vote banks in good mood leading to election day. Austerity can wait. Winning elections is more important.

  2. Sir please help unemployed D.Ed. Teachers as Government taking B.Ed teachers in primary schools to teach English subject. According to high court verdict D.Ed teachers can teach at primary but this government taking B.Ed .illegally. Can u file a case and take stay? All are quiet because the got scared that government will not take them for ion in future.

  3. I think it is good move to select B.Ed teachers for primary classes if they are really qualified. The very reason is most of the primary teachers with D.Ed are incompetent to teach in primary classes, especially English . There may be exceptions. Most of the government primary teachers are being selected by the party leaders, having no consciousness or morality. I worked as a DEO in all three zones inGoa and my experience taught me the very facts. And in my opinion all Asst teachers should posses a post graduation degree to teach in higher classes.
