In the run up to the 2022 Goa Assembly elections, a politically fossilized Luizinho Faleiro had in utter bad taste released verbal secretions while reportedly selfishly scheming for himself a retirement nest by way of a Rajya Sabha berth courtesy of his newfound abode, the Trinamool Congress.
Luizinho Faleiro chose to secure a new dawn for him by grabbing a berth in the Rajya Sabha as a comfy retirement nest rather than for the common good. Nothing more needs to be said on how he abandoned the Congress party which gave him his undeserved status, and which ensured his rise from sheer rags to great riches. More importantly he lacked integrity. While he participated in crucial Congress meetings, he was negotiating his way to the Trinamool Congress, his new abode for the greed of the rupee and lust for power.
But it did not last long. As all good things have to come to an end, Luizinho Faleiro realized that he reached the end of the tunnel. But instead of gracefully hanging his boots he without any clarity tried in vain to confusingly justify his staying on as Rajya Sabha member till he was finally booted out. He shamelessly waited on till he was shown the exit door. His misplaced priorities of putting himself before the common good by abandoning his loyalties to people and the political party that nurtured him finally caught up with him.
Luizinho Faleiro should remember the wise words of the great statesman Abraham Lincoln when he said “you can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all of the time”.
