WITH ATMARAM NADKARNI FINALLY OUT – A RAY OF HOPE FOR GOA

Finally some very good news for Goa. We will soon get a new Advocate General with the current dubious Atmaram Nadkarni who rightly lost his race to be a Supreme Court Judge is now being rehabilitated as one of India’s 12 Additional Solicitor General. We need to sincerely thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi for doing us this great service by ridding Goa of an Advocate General who has brought utter disgrace to the high position.

One of the Additional Solicitor General with whom I spoke today was surprised to hear that Atmaram Nadkarni had been engaging in private practice while being the Advocate General. He went on to say that once you are a Law Officer of the government, protocol demands that you do not engage in private practice and even give a legal opinion to a private party. While reiterating that he had not taken up a single private case since his appointment as Additional Solicitor General in 2014, he further added that a Law officer of the State should consider himself to be an appointee of the Executive and not a political stooge.

Hopefully Atmaram Nadkarni will at least now as the Additional Solicitor General of India turn a new leaf and adhere to some fundamental ethics and morals. But knowing the flamboyant and his never ending greed to amass wealth, he may like the dog’s tail never straighten.
