WAS JOY WHO BROUGHT JOY TO OTHERS HIMSELF DISTRESSED?

The very tragic circumstances in which our Candolim brother Joy Fernandes and his two dear children departed is so very heart- breaking. Extremely sad and unfortunate indeed.

Joy was known to be a very affable person always ready to help those in need. He was a kind and gentle soul who was very active in society. What led him to this extreme step may be something we will never know. It is so very unfortunate that 47 year old Joy’s mission in this world ended so abruptly and mysteriously.

Could these precious lives have been saved if Joy had found a shoulder to cry on or confide what he was going through?

There needs to be a social mechanism to help people resolve and redress their trials and tribulations, safe in the knowledge that their privacy and confidentiality will be respected at all times. Those in distress must be able to speak about their agony without fear or stigma. A robust counseling and mediation service may help save such precious lives.

Marital disputes must in a congenial atmosphere be speedily brought to a happy ending by either resolving the dispute or winding up the marriage itself. They say marriages are made in Heaven, so it is only proper that if there has to be an end to the marriage that it be as dignified and as fair as possible.
