MY ACCIDENTAL FRIEND THE ‘LOCKDOWN LAWYER’

In this pandemic I have lost many friends who sadly succumbed to the virus. Very dear friends who departed so suddenly and so young. Giving no notice and not even an opportunity to pay final respects to their mortal remains.

But in these trying times, I was able to make some new friends. Last year I was so fortunate to meet in cyberspace Advocate Raju Z. Moray who practices at the Bombay High Court at Mumbai. We have not yet had the opportunity to meet personally but we have been regularly in touch.

Adv. Raju has been a source of inspiration with his clarity in thoughts and straight forwardness in all that he has to say while never mincing his words. Someone with an all-time very Positive Mental Attitude. An invaluable friendship and comradeship to be treasured. History may yet recognize him as a man of many talents and as much a talented poet as a lawyer.

As a lawyer and a poet with a funny bone, Adv. Raju has during this pandemic, penned down and contributed innumerable thought provoking poems which are now in a compilation entitled ‘LOCKDOWN LAWYER’.

It will come as no surprise that a lot of this valuable work mirrors the life of lawyers and the judiciary during lockdown, but with satire and humour much needed in these lonely and uncertain times.

This pandemic has brought out many hidden talents in ourselves and in technology that we never thought existed. Adv Raju chose to use the power of the pen and satire to entertain us by making us laugh and still feel connected with the theatrical performances of the courtrooms thereby alleviating depression caused by loneliness during lockdown.

Judge for yourselves this noble, humorous and refreshing form of poetic justice to dealing with the horrors of this pandemic.

It will also prove beyond reasonable doubt that not all lawyers and judges are cold, stern looking, stone faced, boring people. Instead, there are some who are normal fun loving people with a funny bone!

May I share with you the link to this worthy work of my valued friend and lawyer colleague Adv. Raju Moray.
