Forest Minister Vishwajit Rane has so very rightly withdrawn his statement made against Goa Foundation. This retraction is a welcome and commendable step in the right direction. It is a very rare occurrence by politicians today. It should be seen as a minimum standard for others to follow.
Vishwajit Rane’s humility comes as a breath of fresh air and an eye opener when a politician humbles himself to reflect on his words and expresses regret by withdrawing his statement.
Let us hope that all our politicians will find the backbone and an ounce of integrity and honesty to retract and apologise when they have erred or caused hurt by their words or deeds.
