In the death of Virgilio Velho our Panjim has lost a very successful businessman of yester years. He was the Patriarch of Velhos & Filhos in the heart of the city. Always very soft-spoken, he worked very dedicatedly and professionally in his business ventures. He was also very closely associated with socio-cultural activities. Virgilio was a very active Rotarian and I recollect his presence during public speaking contests organised by the Rotary Club of Panaji during my school and college days.
