AIRES LAUDS DGP’S PROMPT ACTION

Adv. Aires Rodrigues has today stated that the very prompt action and directions issued by Goa DGP Indradev Shukla on his complaint was commendable.

Adv. Rodrigues had yesterday met the DGP and submitted to him a complaint stating that he has bonafide reasons and valid apprehensions to believe that the Panaji MLA Babush Monserrate is planning another attack on his life being now enraged after the High Court order on 22nd December in the infamous 2008 Panaji Police Station attack case in which the Panaji MLA and his wife Revenue Minister Jennifer Monserrate are the main accused.

Adv. Rodrigues in his complaint stated that over the last two months he had pursued with the Supreme Court and Bombay High Court the Police Station attack case as it was unduly in cold storage for the last over seven years with an illegal stay of that criminal trial which the High Court has now directed that it should commence and be expedited.

Adv. Rodrigues also drew the DGP’s attention that Babush Monserrate had masterminded the 13th October 2008 grievous attack on him at a city restaurant as he was representing the victim girl who was raped by now Panaji Mayor Rohit Monserrate, the elder son of Babush Monserrate.

Adv. Rodrigues in his complaint further stated that the plentiful criminal antecedents of Babush Monserrate were well known and all part of the Goa Police records while the Panaji MLA now also stands charge-sheeted by the Crime Branch for having not long ago raped a minor girl.

Seeking that the Goa Police monitor the movements of Babush Monserrate as well as keep a tab on his phone calls, Adv. Rodrigues urged the DGP to issue immediate appropriate directions on steps to be taken in the matter.
