CM PRAMOD SAWANT SHOULD STOP DEFENDING THE INDEFENSIBLE

The manner in which Chief Minister Pramod Sawant twists his defence to his every illegal act, one wonders whether he thinks Goans are dumb.

He would be better served if he sought wiser counsel from great leaders like Abraham Lincoln who in his famous quote reminded us that “You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.”

It is for this reason that integrity matters in leadership and good governance. Integrity is the soul of leadership. Trust is the engine of leadership. Good governance and leadership are more than crossing the t’s and dotting the i’s. It is more about character, integrity and work ethics. It is about getting things done correctly and transparently, not trying to justify or defend the indefensible, especially when knowingly doing something wrong.

We are also reminded of the Fig leaf analogy.

What Eve used to cover her “shame” after Adam started looking at her lasciviously? All because of the poor serpent who tempted her to pluck the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge!

God was furious. He wanted them to stay dumb!

Looking at what “knowledge” has made their progeny do to our planet, God seems to have been right after all!
