CM SHOULD NOT ALLOW A NEEDLESS AYUSH CENTER AT THE OLD RIBANDAR HOSPITAL

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant in public interest should not allow an Ayush Center to be set up at our Old Ribandar Hospital and should earmark the entire premises for the setting up of a full fledged and well equipped Community Health Center for the benefit of the public.

The Ayush Center cannot be permitted on the ground floor of the Old Ribandar Hospital as a 24 X 7 Casualty cum Trauma Unit would have to be set up there equipped with MRI, X-ray, Sonography and other allied facilities in place.

The government as promised should initially start with a 30 bedded Health Center which can be expanded in stages into a full fledged hospital.

This much needed Health Center which has been a longstanding demand would benefit not only a densely populated Ribandar but also the neighbouring Chimbel, Merces, Old Goa and the residents in the Island of Divar. All these Panchayats and the CCP as well have passed unanimous resolutions urging the government to set up full fledged medical facilities at the Old Ribandar Hospital.

The Chief Minister should direct the Ayush Ministry to set up its centre elsewhere, Ayush Minister Shripad Naik should realize that after his road accident earlier this year he successfully recovered not on account of Ayush medication but because of the allopathic treatment he received at the Goa Medical College.

The Ayush Ministry having a budget in crores of rupees allocated to it, there must be a meticulous investigation to ascertain that there is no mismanagement or siphoning of public funds.

There must also be an inquiry into whether a close family member of Union Ayush Minister Shripad Naik has been acting as a broker in finalisng under the table deals with all India suppliers of Ayush products.
