As I turn a year younger today, I have to thank God for having kept me safe during this Pandemic with my busy life. It is also a time to reflect and thank all of you immensely for your prayers and good wishes over the years and to humbly seek your continued blessings as I move into another year. It was earlier said that it was one year at a time, but now in the current precarious environment it is one day at a time.
Time and tide wait for no man. Some say time flies when one is having fun. My greatest and only Birthday wish is that the current pandemic, the worst crisis in our lifetime comes to a speedy end and people throughout the world can recover medically, economically, mentally and emotionally.
May I reassure you that as always, as Goa’s humble soldier, the task of serving the people is a commitment, which I will carry on till my very last breath.
As I tread that path into a new year with God’s protection, renewed hope and even greater resolve, may those great words of Rabindranath Tagore which I reminisce on every birthday of mine, guide and inspire me at all times:
Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high
Where knowledge is free
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments
By narrow domestic walls
Where words come out from the depth of truth
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way
Into the dreary desert sand of dead habit
Where the mind is led forward by thee
Into ever-widening thought and action
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.
I look forward to the future, for the best things are yet to come!
