REMEMBERING RIBANDAR’S BUDDING MUSICIAN SELWYN PEREIRA

Yesterday on the 19th death anniversary very fond and never fading memories of  our ever  so dear Selwyn Pereira, a jewel, our Ribandar lost so early, at his very tender age of just 29 in that most tragic road accident at Kanpur.

The very music talented Selwyn Pereira’s debut was with Ribandar’s “Purple Rain” and then he gave birth to his very own “Civilians”. He later moved on to one of Goa’s top the “Big City Band” and then as a keyboardist playing for Remo Fernandes’s “The Microwave Papadams”.

Recalling with nostalgic recollections the always ever so happy, warm hearted and very fun-loving Selwyn who was always ready to help one and all. Exceptionally civil in his conduct, the very down to earth and never with any ego, Selwyn was always ever so unassuming. Besides being a very budding musician, he was an outstanding human being always caring and someone who never stopped smiling.  Selwyn was a great guy, on and off stage.

Selwyn as part of our Ribandar’s ‘Purple Rain’ enthralled us with that amazing music at my 18th birthday 41 years ago. Will miss you Selwyn for my 60th next year. You may have departed this earth but will never be forgotten.
