The irony in Goa today is that while Goans have for long struggled to get even the basic medical care at Government hospitals and Health centres with even critical medication unavailable and with weeks if not months wait to be operated upon, the Political class has been merrily jetting across the globe to hospitals of their delightful choice, within the Country and across the Globe.
Our Chief Secretary has a lot to explain as to how the hell he has been allowing such a gross anomaly and grave illegalities with now, even an unprecedented ICU set up at the private residence of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.
Our very depleted State Exchequer has already coughed up crores while Manohar Parrikar is struggling in clinging to the Chief Minister’s Chair hoping that on his departure a ‘Statue’ will follow. But with so much of public anger and outrage all over against Manohar Parrikar, the fate of his last dream may crumble even before it’s conceived.
Where Medical care is concerned the Politicians in Power should not claim any special privileges and need to be treated on par with the Aam Aadmi. This gross abuse of Power and Authority is untenable and needs to end.
